In the mid-80s

as Hip Hop subculture exploded to prominence, Brent May aka DUCKROCK, an ambitious soul darkly personified his “Die with money not dreams” mantra.

Of Brockton, a flailing, suburban Massachusetts blue-collar city, May, a mid-twenties African-American, equal parts business student and street hustler leads the Pony Boys, a proficient multi-race breakdance crew of unknowingly questionable morals. Together, they make loot through bat mitzvah-breaking performances, dance battles, and... hot prowl burglaries.

After losing a pitched battle at a local club, the Pony Boys now tie in a three-battle street cred series against the Fresh Rockers, a hyper-collective, inner-city Boston squad. As May devises a plan to win the upcoming ultimate battle, he has conversations that filter through his prism and motivate him toward bolder illicit pursuits and quick financial gains by insurance fraud.

At a pond, May's jealous model-like girlfriend confronts him over his lack of time spent with her. Frustrated, May leaves driven by a fellow Pony Boy en route to Brockton's mall. As the front seat passenger, May deviously commandeers the steering wheel and he collides their ride with an illegally exiting Mercedes, setting the stage for his first insurance fraud. Six months later, May deposits a settlement check in his bank, then buys a new gold Porsche at a dealership and speeds it off the lot.

Parking to interview at a business university in Boston, May meets Priscilla Ochoa, a self-assured Colombian woman in her thirties. Impressed by May, Priscilla secretly envisions a grand nefarious purpose for him. Parting, she gives May her beeper number.

Recruiting contesting Brockton B-Boys is May's master plan to defeat the Fresh Rockers. He and the Pony Boys emerge victorious from the battle. As the sun sets on breakdancing's profitability, May and his squad rent a house beside a college campus, transforming it into something of a frat house and net off throwing the freshest, next-level parties. Avarice out-of-control, from hometown hero to villain, May starkly becomes a street general and re-purposes select Pony Boys with new unsavory players to commit white-collar crimes, massive credit card shams, and dabble in the drug trade crusading cocaine.

Power coupled with his new romantic interest, Livvy Borgonoff, an older, prominent Brockton Realtor, May unexpectedly reconnects with Priscilla, revealed to be a Medellin Cartel narcotrafficker. Fronted a cocaine load by Priscilla, May and his crew transformatively ascend to power menacing as a large-scale drug organization directly moving the Colombian's coke. To take over the streets, they must subvert rival Rui Gutierrez, a ruthless Cape Verdean, drug baron, and navigate around threats of betrayal, a dirty double agent cop, and the tightening collar of the law.

After his inevitable downfall, in prison, May momentarily glimmers in an unforeseen, biblical-inspired act of forgiveness. Seven years later, he is released early, a casualty of invalidated state drug lab certificates. May is absconded to Medellin by the cartel and in exchange for not outing the Ochoas as his cocaine supplier to the cops, he is rewarded a beachfront Mediterranean villa in Colombia. A future headquarters for whatever endeavors he may undertake next.
